Echoes of Neon Rain on Skin
The city breathes in shades of cobalt and violet, a rhythmic pulse that hums beneath my bare soles. Every step on the slick pavement feels like tracing memories through water—cool at first, then blooming with an unfamiliar warmth.
I can still feel the phantom weight of his hand against my shoulder from hours ago, a fleeting touch in a crowded cafe that felt more permanent than any contract or promise. Now, under these electric lights, I am both hidden and exposed. The neon reflects off the damp ground like fallen stars, mirroring the way my heart flickers when I think of him.
They say the city is cold, but tonight it feels intimate. The mist clings to my skin like a silk veil, carrying with it the scent of ozone and distant jasmine. In this transient space between buildings, I am learning that healing isn't about finding home—it’s about discovering how much light one can carry within themselves while walking through the dark.
I close my eyes for just a second, letting the humidity settle into my hair. For now, there is no past to mourn or future to fear. There is only this moment: the hum of electricity, the taste of rain on air, and the quiet realization that I am finally learning how to bloom in the glow.
